Photoshop Wizard Turns Eminem’s Famous Frown Upside Down

Rapper Eminem — Marshall Mathers to some, Slim Shady to others — has a notorious frown. It’s not that Eminem isn’t capable of smiling or having fun. Hell, his first couple of records especially had a juvenile playfulness that I’d argue ingratiated himself to fans right away.

But rappers in general aren’t usually photographed mugging with a smile ear to ear, and Eminem in particular is well-known for his iconic scowl in pictures. When he’s not frowning, he’s usually not smiling either.

See? As photogenic as Eminem might be, he’s not usually going to be found in pictures with a big, toothy grin. Instead, leave it to Photoshop genius Mike Brown, and he’ll do the smiling for Mathers.

Brown recently uploaded a spate of work he did on the rap legend. Here’s some of Mike’s work he did. Starting with the picture we just showed you of Eminem. Brown gave him a nice, big, toothy smile and lifted Eminem’s brows and eyes slightly, and the difference is dramatic and frankly kind of hilarious…if not a touch scary.

I have no idea why Eminem isn’t smiling in this one. If I were standing in front of a display of my own personal clothing line, I might crack at least some kind of smile. But Mike Brown rides to the rescue again, and turns Eminem’s frown upside down.

In this example, Brown takes a serious looking black and white snap of Eminem and gives him a giant set of chompers.

Brown didn’t just rely on giving Eminem a smile with teeth for this digital exhibition of the actor and musician. Mike was even able to make some more subtle changes that still drastically altered the mood that Eminem was projecting.

Still others are pretty much just straight up comical, if not still brilliantly done.

Now I want to see Mike take some celebrities who are known for always smiling and turn them into scowling, frowning balls of angst. Don’t you?
