Middle class Trump supporters are learning they’re paying more taxes and oh boy, they’re mad

We told you. We tried to warn you.

“Trump is going to drain the swamp! Trump is going to fix our broken tax system!”

These were the cheers heard from the right. Trump supporters were elated when Trump finally passed his tax reform. You know, the bill that was great for corporations but thoroughly dicked down everybody else?

Well, tax season is starting to ramp up into full swing as we all should have received our W2 forms from people who threw money at us in 2018. And, in a surprise only to them, middle class Trump supporters are learning that they owe quite a bit more in taxes in 2018 than they did in 2017.

This is thanks to Trump eliminating many deductions that middle class families previously enjoyed while placing a limit on the amount of deductions that can be taken.

In other words:

Previously a family of four got $16,200 (4x$4050) personal exemptions PLUS deductions (mortgage interest, charity, SALT, etc.) of say $24K so total deduction was $40,200.
Now only get standard of $24K.
They got screwed.

I’m aware that the new tax law affects me as well, so I assure you I take no joy in the #MAGAmisery. Okay, maybe I giggled about it for a short while. But you get the idea.

Between this, the Matthew Whitaker hearing today, and all the various indictments/convictions/plea deals from the Mueller investigation, it looks like it’s going to be a rough year for Trump and his comrades.
