InfoWars’ Alex Jones says he had a ‘Form of psychosis’ while peddling Sandy Hook conspiracy theories

During a videotaped deposition, as part of a litany of lawsuits filed by parents of Sandy Hook victims, InfoWars host Alex Jones claimed that he had a “form of psychosis” when he was on the leading edge of promoting the absurd Sandy Hook “false flag” conspiracy theory.

The Daily Beast reported:

Jones reportedly said that at the time, he “almost had like a form of psychosis… where [he] basically thought everything was staged, even though I’m now learning a lot of times things aren’t staged.” Jones blamed his mental state on the “trauma of the media and the corporations lying so much,” saying that he couldn’t “trust anything anymore,” and he didn’t really know what reality was.

How introspective of him! After all, reality is nothing more than a fleeting illusion that we have to be told happened before we were aware that we even existed and we assume will continue happening once our physical existence has concluded.

Nobody exists on purpose, nobody belongs anywhere, everyone’s gonna die. Come watch TV.

Not satisfied with triggering existential crises in everyone who watches his deposition, Alex Jones also took aim at the lawyers for the victims’ families, in a weird attempt to gaslight them.

Have your own existential crisis with our all-over print Wormhole shirt, on sale now in our store!

He also admitted to the lawyer of one of the suing parents that he was susceptible to “mass group think.” “And so now I see that it’s more in the middle. All right? So that’s where I stand,” Jones said. Despite claiming that his mental state altered his worldview at one point, he claimed that he could “question big public events” as part of his First Amendment rights. “I believe children died. “I believe there was a mass shooting,” Jones said, adding that “experts” he’s spoken to—including “retired FBI agents and other people and people high up in the Central Intelligence Agency”—told him there was a “cover-up in Sandy Hook.”

In other words, Alex Jones is trying to get out of being sued for perpetuating a conspiracy theory that caused incredible emotional damage to the victims’ families by saying that he had an existential crisis.

Excuse me for a moment while I call bullshit on this whole thing.
