Yesterday, Elon Musk released a rap song dedicated to the memory of Harambe, the gorilla who was killed nearly three years ago after a child fell into his enclosure.

No, I did not make any typos and this is not satire. This really, actually happened. The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla released a rap song dedicated to our fallen friend.

I just… I don’t even know what more to say about it.

Any decent person of the internet has been in a state of incessant mourning ever since we lost Harambe on that fateful day in 2016. And while coping with the loss never gets easier, the many memorials people have created help take the edge off of this terrible loss for humanity.

The track is entitled “RIP Harambe”. The chorus will bring you to tears:

RIP Harambe Sipping on some Bombay We are on our way to heaven Amen, Amen RIP Harambe Smoking on that strong, hey In the gorilla zoo and we all think about you

There’s also a call out in the song, asking “where my gorillas at?”

The song was released by “Emo G Records”, because of course it was. #DicksOut, indeed.

According to the website XXL, the song was not made by Elon himself. The rapper Yung Jake claimed credit for the vocals on the song. At the time of this writing, XXL did not know what Yung Jake’s relationship with Elon Musk is.

May we #NeverForget that fateful day in May 2016, and #AlwaysRemember the sacrifice Harambe made for the greater good of humanity.
