Bishop tells kids 'Gay people exist because their mothers like anal sex'

Neophytos Masouras, a bishop of a Greek Orthodox Church, told a group of schoolchildren that gay people exist because their mothers had anal sex while they were pregnant (and they liked it).

Another day, another religious nutcase saying something completely ridiculous and objectively false.

During “spiritual meetings of dialogue” (whatever that means), Masouras told the children:

It happens during the parent’s intercourse or pregnancy. It follows an abnormal sexual act between the parents. To be more clear, anal sex.

I, for one, am glad Bishop Butt Stuff clarified, but am confused why he thinks anal is “abnormal.”

After all, this is 2019. We eat ass now, grandpa.

Masouras continued the statement by saying “[Saint Porfyrios] says that when the woman likes that, a desire is born, and then the desire is passed on to the child.”

In other words, he’s saying because mom likes butt stuff, her son will like butt stuff, too.

Masouras’s source on this is a “saint”, Porphyrios (Bairaktaris) of Kafsokalivia, who passed away in 1991. The Wikipedia entry for him has some quotes, and nowhere in any of those quotes did I find anything about gay people being the result of their parents doing some butt stuff. I did, however, find this quote from Porfyrios:

The parents don’t help their children by lecturing them and repeating to them ‘advices’ [sic], or by making them obeying [sic] strict rules in order to impose discipline… With their wrong and/or negative attitude the parents convey to their children their negative feelings. Then their children become reactive and insecure not only to their home, but to the society as well.

Honestly, that’s really not bad parenting advice. It is rather ironic though, given the context of Masouras’s claim.

But it’s not just Masouras who says crazy shit like this, though. Christian conservatives are also known to say completely false things like ‘straight people don’t have oral sex or do butt stuff’.

I don’t know where these types come up with this kind of garbage, or why they’re so preoccupied with who puts what in which hole. For being people who pretend to care about “purity” and “morality”, they sure do think about boinking a lot.

The LGBTQ rights group Pink News posed an interesting question though – “How are lesbians created?”
